Context/Reporting line:

Under the general guidance of the Head, Peacebuilding and stabilization Division, the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator (MHPSS), and the direct supervision of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Officer, the incumbent will perform the following duties.

Core Functions / Responsibilities

1. Provide technical support, coordination and supervision of MHPSS teams in Erbil and Ninewa governorate, ensuring timely and effective execution of project’s activities and operational plans, as well as efficient, transparent and accountable use of allocated
2. Organize and deliver online and in person training modules on key MHPSS topics such as counselling, Psychological First Aid, and other topics as per the teams’
3. Promote partnership, capacity building and strengthening of civil societies organizations, including local NGOs, women’s and youth associations, providing training, coaching, and networking.
4. Carry on needs assessments, support researches, provide suggestions to promote psychosocial support at governorate level, draft operational plans to enhance access to psychosocial services and peacebuilding
5. Assist the MHPSS Programme Coordinator and Officer in the overall management of the program in the governorate, including administrative, coordination, and project development
6. Support the maintenance of project documentation and information, including the preparation of Arabic and English translations of technical
7. Ensure that confidentiality and the right to privacy is maintained with regard to confidential project and beneficiary information.
8. In accordance with structured reporting requirements and informal reporting needs, prepare clear and concise reports of all activities
9. Ensure that hardcopy and electronic information systems are maintained, particularly the important notes of all key monitoring, implementation, and coordination
10. Provide training sessions to IOM staff, psychosocial field teams, community focal points and partner organizations

12. Participate in the continuous monitoring and evaluation of the program and in the logistical elaboration of the programmatic phases of
13. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the MHPSS programme coordinator and PSD area coordinator.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Psychology, Mental Health or any related field from an accredited academic university or institution.

Experience and Skills:

• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in providing psychotherapeutic interventions; CBT, IPT, behavioral and relaxation therapies, etc.
• Knowledge of different culturally relevant therapeutic techniques.
• Experience in supervision of mental health staff in camp and non-camp settings.
• Experience in developing the content of and providing trainings in the mental health field.
• Experience in conducting assessments, using screening tools and creating individual care plans for clients seeking mental health services.
• Experience in working in an international environment and in liaising with a variety of partners at all levels of the hierarchy.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to present clear and concise information.
• Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of people including people of culturally diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point.

Languages:

• Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is required.
