Finance Assistant (m/f)
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until June 30, 2022.The place of work will be in Tikrit - Governorate of Salahudeen
To provide effective assistance to the Finance and Administration team, act as an interface between Finance and Admin and all staff on financial and administration matters.
Your responsibilities
Financial tasks:
- Manage the petty cash safe (daily matching between the cashbook and the safe, cash flow management);
- Check the vouchers and the relevant supportive documents (quality, authenticity, reliability, accuracy and fairness);
- Ensure the follow-up of the payments/ distribution done in the field, including the cash distribution and the items distribution;
- Attend the major payments which have to be done on the field;
- Collect the relevant supportive documents in regards to the expenses/ purchases/ payments done in the field;
- Ensure duly payments for all items and services (after approval) and advances.
Administrative tasks:
- Ensure the correct filing of all the financial and administrative documents;
- Translate, if necessary, some administrative and financial documents (invoices, cost estimations, official statements, bank statements, law texts, labor contract, internal procedures, internal key documents, etc.) from Arabic and/or Kurdish into English;
- Realize, if necessary, administrative tasks before the local legal authorities ;
- Scan and copy the key financial and administrative documents.
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant position and field (administration, economics, accounting, management, statistics);
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a relevant position (cashier, accountant, finance and/or administrative assistant, finance officer), preferably with an international NGO;
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Able to work with MS-Office, E-mail and internet. Knowledge of a financial software is an advantage;
- A previous experience in an international NGOs and/or institution is a strong advantage;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and deal successfully in multi-cultural environment;
- Committed, honest and eager to learn.
