Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is a German private, non-profit, politically independent, and non-denominational relief organization committed to supporting individuals living in deprivation and poverty, regardless of their skin color, religious beliefs, or worldview. WHH operates in the fields of development cooperation, humanitarian aid, relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction. The organization is currently implementing the project IRQ-1083, titled "Supporting Employment Promotion and Increased Income for Host Communities, IDPs, Returnees, and Refugees in Iraq," aimed at fostering sustainable livelihoods and self-help capabilities through the rebuilding of agricultural systems using resource-conserving techniques.
- Description of Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Project Junior Officer and other project staff, Community Mobilizers are responsible for supporting the implementation of project activities conducted by WHH and its partners.
Overall Objective:
The general objective is to support the implementation of project activities by establishing strong links with communities. A community mobilizer contributes to the success of outreach and registration activities, ensuring that the community is well-informed, engaged, and actively participating in relevant programs.
Specific Tasks:
Awareness:
- Raise awareness about specific programs, services, or initiatives within the community.
- Ensure that community members have accurate and up-to-date information regarding the purpose, benefits, and details of outreach or registration efforts.
Promote Participation:
- Encourage community members to actively participate in outreach activities or register for relevant programs.
- Address concerns or barriers that may prevent community members from participating and work towards solutions.
Facilitate Registration Processes:
- Assist community members in completing registration forms or procedures.
- Provide guidance on the required documentation and any other prerequisites for successful registration.
Description of Responsibilities of Community Mobilizer:
Community Mobilizers are expected to carry out the following tasks and generate the below deliverables in accordance with the relevant guidelines provided by the management of WHH and in close collaboration with WHH staff:
- Conduct door-to-door interviews within the project area for the registration of participants.
- Conduct data collection for baseline surveys, post-distribution monitoring, and endline surveys using provided data collection tools.
- Ensure transparent, accurate, and timely collection of quantitative and qualitative data and information.
- Document all findings in the provided data collection tools.
- Identify and report any challenges faced that could affect the quality of the project.
- Take responsibility for project equipment entrusted to them.
- Facilitate and monitor the training process.
- Community Mobilizers may be asked to carry out other duties as requested by the supervisor.
- Minimum diploma or bachelor's degree in agriculture science or a relevant educational background.
- Previous experience with an NGO and/or institution in a relevant field of work is an advantage.
- Fluency in Kurdish and Arabic; good proficiency in English is an advantage.
- Good experience in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Committed, honest, friendly, and eager to learn.
- Residency in the targeted districts is required.
