Description

Job Purpose: The Activities Facilitators will play a key role in creating a safe and supportive environment for children, adolescents, and youth at the newly established Community-Based Child Protection Center in Misirek. They will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising structured and unstructured activities aimed at promoting psychosocial wellbeing, life skills, creativity, and resilience among children and youth

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate recreational and developmental activities in areas such as:
    • Computer skills
    • Music
    • Art and crafts
    • Sports and games
  • Conduct structured and non-structured PSS (Psychosocial Support) sessions for children and adolescents.
  • Promote inclusion and protection of all children, including vulnerable and at-risk groups.
  • Encourage children’s participation and talent development through safe and engaging learning methods.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly environment in the center.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of children participating in the center’s activities.
  • Coordinate with case management staff and community members when needed.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, training, and supervision.
  • Ensure gender-sensitive and culturally appropriate practices are integrated in all activities.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Must be a resident of Misirek.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Arts, Physical Education, or any related field.
  • Experience working with children and youth, preferably in a humanitarian or community-based setting.
  • Demonstrated talent in one or more areas (e.g., music, sports, arts, IT).
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in Kurdish and Arabic (written and spoken).
  • Commitment to child protection principles, including confidentiality and do-no-harm approaches.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
