Project Summary: The project of “Community Engagement to Reduce Irregular Migration from Kurdistan Region of Iraq” aims to reduce the incidence of irregular migration from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to the UK and France by fostering informed decision-making and empowering local communities. The project addresses key information gaps by supporting youth to think critically about the risks and realities of irregular migration. It promotes trust in safe, legal, and locally available opportunities for employment and training, aiming to shift community perceptions toward credible alternatives. Additionally, the project strengthens the capacity and motivation of community leaders and influencers to drive effective, grassroots-level dialogue, reduce the social acceptability of smuggling, and disrupt the influence of smuggling networks.
Job Summary: The Team Leader will directly manage and coordinate the field implementation of project activities, including awareness sessions, community engagement, and volunteer coordination. They will ensure effective execution of field plans, supervise outreach assistants, and serve as the focal point for local stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise daily field operations across schools, public spaces, and community centers.
· Coordinate and guide the outreach team in delivering workshops, storytelling sessions, and awareness events.
· Ensure volunteer mobilization, training, and ongoing support for multiplier roles.
· Liaise with community leaders, CSOs, and local authorities to facilitate smooth delivery.
· Collect feedback from sessions and identify field-level challenges and opportunities.
· Support logistics and preparation of digital and print materials for sessions.
· Report progress and contribute to activity monitoring and planning sessions.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Communications, or related field.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in team leadership and field coordination roles.
· Experience working with youth, community groups, or awareness campaigns.
· Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
· Fluent Kurdish, very good skills in English; Arabic is preferred.
· Ability to motivate and manage a field-based team.
· Familiarity with issues related to migration is a plus.
