• S/he is responsible for the collection of education data and for the overall monitoring of the education context in the assigned area and the collection of qualitative and quantitative data.

  S/he identifies gaps, needs and barriers in education system in the community and ensuring the quality and meaningful access to education for children.

• Conduct education monitoring activities in the area of intervention and community level using deferent quantitative and qualitative tools. 
• Follow up the attendance of children in access the formal, non-formal, transportation, PTAs, education committees and other activities under the responsibility of the education team.
• Involve and contact regularly stakeholders and main partners in the area of implementation, head masters, teachers, key informant persons, volunteers, facilitators, communities, DoE, MoE staff etc. 
• Use of the education monitoring tools and facilitating Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) mobilizing the communities, use of the tools: key Informant Interviews, observations, case studies etc. amongst community members, school community and other intervenients on selected topics define by the supervisors and Education Manager. 
• Report to the Education Team Leader any serious education concern identified and observed within target schools, communities, children, education community etc.  
• Identify individual cases with education and also protection concerns during data collection for referral to internal services or specialized agencies and partners. 
• Verify collected information on education concerns/ topics as well as availability and access to services and education through direct observation of the area.
• Support the Education Team Leader in reporting qualitative and quantitative data and information.
• Support sensitization, information dissemination and training activities.
• Follow up and support the CFFM in coordination with the MEAL team.

Skills/Competences:

Essential

• Previous experience in similar position with INGOs (2 years);
• University degree in Humanities and/or similar;
• Adherence to humanitarian principles and code of conduct, in line with INTERSOS' principles, values and regulations;
• Fluency in Arabic and Kurdish;
• Good IT knowledge and computer skills (word and excel);
• Ability and willingness to travel across the assigned program areas (KRI) to carry out rapid assessment;
• Ability in analysing data and issue timely structured reports;
• Knowledge of the context and of the Education system in KRI;
• Knowledge of Child Safeguarding policy and PSEA;

Desirable

• Good Knowledge of English is highly valued;
• Strong diplomatic, interpersonal, listening and communication skills;
• Ability to work in a multicultural context as a flexible and respectful team;
• Pro-activity and independency;
• Flexibility and ability to cope with stressful situations;
• Previous working experience with camp and out of camp settings with IDPs, returnees, refugees and host- communities.
