Description

Context/Reporting line:

Under the general guidance of the Head, Preparedness and Response Division, the overall supervision of the Project Officer (CCCM), the administrative supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO), and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Assistant- CCCM, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  1. Assist during the focus groups on pertinent subjects, by informing the participant, preparing the space, and keeping the focus group attendance list.
  2. Work closely with the Senior Project Assistant to identify prospective community leaders and assist in the development of the camp committees.
  3. Assist in the planning and directing of recreational activities aimed at young people and men in the community.
  4. Complete any additional acceptable responsibilities that the line manager assigns you.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any related field from an accredited academic university or institute with 1 year of relevant professional experience, or:
  • Completed highschool diploma with 3 years of relevant professional experience.

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a fast-moving, multi-site environment;
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work on unusual hours and cope with the pressure from emergency activities;
  • Relevant certifications, training, and project experience, specifically in camp management and community engagement, are advantages.
  • Good knowledge of camp management principles, best practices, and standards.
  • Knowledge of local governance in post-conflict contexts and gender and inclusion strategies.
  • Good understanding of community engagement and social cohesion.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian principles and do not harm.

 

Languages:

  • Fluency in Arabic is required.
  • Working knowledge of any other language is an asset.
