VACANCY: Restoring Family Links Field Officer 1 (RFL FO1)

Duration of Contract: One-year Fixed-Term Contract (with the possibility of renewal based on needs and performance).

Objective:

 

The Restoring Family Links Field Officer 1 (RFL FO1) is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of ICRC RFL activities within the relevant area of responsibility, through following-up the treatment of specific PFL (Protection of Family Links) files, in accordance with the working procedures, and under the direct supervision of the Protection Team Leader, and the Head of Tracing. As part of the RFL team, the RFL Field Officer will be directly in contact with families of the missing and relevant interlocutors in the clarification of the fate of missing persons.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  Under the direct supervision of the Protection Team Leader and functional support of head of tracing, the incumbent will undertake the following responsibilities:

 

  • Supports the overall design and implementation of ICRC protecting and restoring family links (RFL) activities at the sub-Delegation.
  • The RFL FO prepares, conducts and participates in all aspects of field trips conducting PFL activities, and coordinates with the branch of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) to follow up on joint RFL activities.
  • Maintaining accurate filing and archiving system of the tracing office data, in line with the relevant internal guidelines, and analyzing and providing data and statistics will be a part of the daily activities.
  • The RFL FO will work with the different ICRC departments, families of the missing, relevant authorities and other actors as needed.
  • Collects, compiles and translates RFL-related information/documents, paying due attention to staff risk management requirements and ensuring that confidentiality is respected.
  • Develops and maintains contact with municipal authorities, community leaders, branch of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS), and local population, and others as relevant.
  • Analyses data and contributes to written internal reports related to RFL activities in the area of responsibility.
  • Fosters a constructive working environment (multidisciplinary approach, good team dynamics) among team members.

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education and Professional Experience required:

  • High school qualification or professional diploma.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic is essential, other local languages are assets.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint.
  • Previous experience in social work or similar filed.
