Description

Background  

As part of the British National Action Plan 1325 in line with the Conflict, Stability, and Security Fund (CSSF) – Iraq Programme, the project “Women’s Voices First – Women Leading the Way to Inclusive Peace in Iraq” will support Iraqi grassroots women-led, feminist, women’s rights organizations  (WROs) and civil society organizations (CSOs) to jointly deliver a localized and transformative Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. The project aims to contribute to inclusive peace and security in communities across federal and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq committing itself to the following pillars – enabling CSOs, including grassroots women-led, feminist and women’s rights organizations to: 

  1. Implement programming on self-defined WPS priorities that meet the identified needs of women and girls in their communities.   
  1. Operate as self-reliant development actors who can manage and access funding as well as implement programming on self-defined WPS priorities. 
  1. Establish a network of CSOs and WROs, representing the diversity of Iraqi communities, by lobbying and advocating for inclusive political processes and (inter)national policies on peace and security in Iraq. 

Cordaid is recruiting a report writer and note taker to support the development of workshop reports and resources for the participants, the narrative and quarterly reporting of the project and WVF website.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Finalizing all kick off workshop reports:  

A-Perform recording and archive from the workshop/meeting process as a backup file to clarify and re-check the preparation of meeting/workshop reports. 

B-Record the meeting process with accurate detail and attention to the important points of the workshop. 

C-Produce workshop/meeting notes verbatim (if requested). 

D-Produce final meeting/workshop reports with acceptable standards. 

  • Support WVF website and following with supplier to make it well organized. 
  • Support upcoming narrative and quarterly report every three months. 
  • Other tasks assigned by Program Manager. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and report writing abilities. 
  • Conducting research, surveys and interviews to gain understanding of the business. 
  • Compiling and presenting information orally, visually and in writing. 
  • Developing and implementing new procedures or training. 
  • Detecting issues and investigating ways to resolve them. 
  • Analyzing statistics. 
  • Assessing the pros and cons of possible strategies. 
  • Develop and work with the team to establish future-facing insights, implications, and recommendations, delivering advice, making recommendations, and identifying and solving problems.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Good writing skills. 
  • Bachelor's Degree and or hold a Master's Degree in English/ Journalism or any similar field Affinity with women, peace and security programming (development and implementation of programs, monitoring, evaluation and learning).
