Main Purpose of the position:
Ensure quality and confidential radio communications for the operational needs of the mission and projects, and in accordance with MSF's security rules and policy
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality and transmission of messages.
- Make sure that messages are copied and sent to the right people. Save the messages in the radio tracking excel file. Respond to messages from teams on the move or at the base.
- Track and record the movements of people, vehicles. (Arrival, departure, number of passengers, route taken, point of contact planned) and inform the supervisor of any delay in Iraq.
- Record the loan of handsets made to each staff member and follow up on a regular basis.
- Check that all equipment is working properly and report any damage, loss or theft to the supervisor. Maintain equipment clean and in good condition. Install and use equipment and perform preventive maintenance checks on designated equipment.
- Centralize movements every week for the needs of the mission.
- As needed, give basic training to MSF staff.
- Monitor the roads (open\close) in Baghdad and report that to supervisor & HoM Advisor.
- Monitor the roads (open\close) used by the mission to project locations
- Monitor security situation in general and report to HoM Advisor if there is any update.
Requirements:
Education
- To know how to read and write in Arabic. Preferably have completed secondary school
- Can communicate in English
Experience
- Preferably, work experience as a radio operator in similar jobs.
- Experience MSF or NGO
- knowledge in English
