Description

Case follow-up

  • Support the identification of persons of specific needs and facilitate the referral path-way mechanism of persons with specific needs (PWSN) among different service providers in camps and urban area.
  • Conduct intake interviews with individuals, which were identified by the team during DCM, outreach work or referred by other agencies.
  • Refer PWSN to appropriate services, including by referring individuals in need of legal assistance, MPHSS, CP or SGBV case management to relevant actors, and when considered necessary directly accompany them to different service providers.
  • Refer PWSN to Emergency Medical Cash Assistance (EMCA) in accordance with the EMCA SOPs, as well as refer serious medical cases for which medical treatment is not available in country to UNHCR for further assessment.
  • Refer persons with specific needs to Emergency Protection Cash Assistance (EPCA) in accordance with the EPCA SOPs.
  • Ensure timely and adequate follow-up for every case referred.
  • Participate/organize case conferences for complex case with other service providers to find proper services and solutions for vulnerable families/individual with specific needs.
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments for high protection risk cases, when there is no room for referrals because of lack of services, in close collaboration with UNHCR.
  • Keep detailed records of the protection needs identified and the actions taken to address these needs, including the use of appropriate referral forms and safe filing.
  • Conduct home visits to assess clients’ living conditions if considered necessary.
  • Close a case when the case has been adequately referred and feedback has been received by the service provider.
  • Protection monitoring
  • Participate in protection monitoring visits to locations across Erbil Governorate and East Mosul, and interview families in order to complete protection monitoring assessments.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, security institutions and other public institutions to facilitate Protection Monitoring activities and to gather information on the ability of IDPs/Refugees to access basic services and rights
  • Liaise with government officials to gather information related to IDP/Refugee protection.
  • Write analytical weekly reports in English, for submission to the Protection Manager and protection Team leaders.
  • Attend coordination meetings and trainings when required by supervisors.
  • Ensure good relationships and coordination with all service providers in the area of intervention to improve identification of persons with specific needs for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing.
  • Identify and report gaps in the availability of services and quality of service provision for PoCs in the target areas.
  • Report security incidents encountered.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Sociology or Psychology Science, or any other relevant fields;
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in protection and humanitarian response.
  • Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic & English languages;
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Statistics Applications and Softwares;
  • Willingness to work in all areas of Erbil Governorate. 
  • Must work well within ethnically diverse teams, and work cooperatively within teams. 
  • Prior experience with NGO sector would be an advantage.
  • High respect to organization confidentiality.
  • Familiar with using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
